The “Technology Trends” is thematic ITU (www.itu.int) publication with the aim of providing a comprehensive analysis of the latest technological developments. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies

WHAT

The report covers challenges of IoT and IoT applications in developing countries. And in particular

• Impacts of IoT and IoT applications on digital transformation
• Assessment of Internet of things in selected LDCS, LLDCS and SIDs
• Indicators for assessing IoT readiness. These include technology, policy, regulation, privacy and security,
• applications and capacity development.
• Discussion on IoT aggregated index
• IoT applications such as smart cities and communities
• Opportunities for developing countries (e.g. precision agriculture, environment monitoring, utility management, Intelligent Health Management)
